Christian Lindemann was born 1975 and grew up in a small town in Germany. He was was inspired to take on graphic design and illustration as a result of his life long passion for drawing.

He began at an early age to develop his skills and formed his own style at University in Hildesheim (GER) and Melbourne (AUS). Afterwards he had a 3 years working experience as a full time graphic designer at Dievision advertising in Hannover.

Since January 2006 he is working as a freelance Illustrator and graphic designer for clients like ebay, DHL, Yellostrom, Mitsubishi and TNT. As a result his work has been exhibited in Europe and abroad, appeared in numerous magazines and featured on websites.

H: How long have you been illustrating, how'd you get into it?
I´m doodleing and drawing since I was in the kindergarden. My interest leads me to do more drawings. With my first computer I explored the possibilities of combining my drawing skills with illustrator and my style changed. Around 1999 I build up my first website and step by step my work was recognized. First jobs and projects came in and since then everything went forward...

Who and what inspires you? why?
It ´s hard to answer. It changes from time to time and situation. Mostly it´s a scene from everydays life, like a leaf on the street or a writing on a wall. Some artists who´s work has a big influence on me: Robert Crumb, Keith Haring, Chris Ware, Basquiat and Picasso. At the moment I really like Jeff Soto and Rinzen.

How would you describe your style?
A big basket of colours mixed with cuteness and a bit of irony

The future for Linde Design consists of... a cozy space to work on my huge list of ideas with a good mix between cookies and orange juice.

Christian Lindemann nació y creció en una pequeña ciudad de Alemania. Se inclinó por el diseño gráfico y la ilustración como resultado de su pasión por el dibujo. Muy pronto empezó a desarrollar sus habilidades y se formó en la universidad de ‘Hildesheim’ (Alemania) y Melbourne (Australia) Después trabajó durante tres años como diseñador gráfico para la agencia de publicidad ‘Dievision’ en Hannover. Desde Enero de 2007 trabaja como ilustrador y diseñador gráfico freelance para clientes como Ebay, DHL, Yellostrom, Mitsubishi y TNT. Como resultado de su trabajo ha expuesto en Europa y extranjero, ha aparecido en numerosos magazines y páginas webs.

H: Cuánto tiempo llevas ilustrando y como empezaste?
He dibujado desde que estaba en la guardería. Mi interés me incitó a dibujar más. Con mi primer ordenador exploré la posibilidad de combinar mi habilidad para dibujar con el illustrator y mi estilo cambió. Sobre 1999 cree mi primera web y poco a poco mi trabajo ha sido reconocido. Los primeros trabajos surgieron y, desde entonces, toda va hacia delante.

¿Quién y qué te inspira? ¿Por qué?
Es difícil de contestar. Cambia dependiendo de la época y la situación. La mayoría de las veces es una escena de la vida diaria, como una hoja en la calle o una frase en un pared. Algunas artistas cuyo trabajo han tenido una gran influencia sobre mí son: Robert Crumb, Keith Haring, Chris Ware, Basquiat y Picasso. Ahora mismo me gusta el trabajo de Jeff Soto y Rinzen.

¿Cómo describirías tu estilo?
Una gran caja de colores mezclado con un toque mono y un poco de ironía.

El futuro de Lindedesign consiste en… un acogedor espacio donde trabajar en mi enorme lista de ideas con una buena mezcla entre galletas y zumo de naranja.
